Well, it does make it even better when you hear that the 11th annual Leisure Isle Festival will benefit five different charities while providing wholesome entertainment to the entire family. And it gets even better when you hear that the festival embraces the concept of ‘Buy Local’.

This year the entrance park on Leisure Isle will once again be abuzz with activities on 26 and 27 October. Stalls catering for every taste will be offering a mouth-watering array of food and drink and fresh produce, as well as arts and crafts, toys, a huge array of books, indigenous and other plants and many other delights.

The whole family can relax in the beautiful tea and beer gardens, or under the trees in the food section. And in addition to the delicious delicacies on offer at the food stalls, approximately 100 stalls will offer everything we have come to expect, as well as exciting new options – the perfect opportunity to get some early Christmas shopping done!
While everyone can look forward to old favourites like the ever-popular barrel train and jumping castle for children, and the doggie walk around the island for all ages, Knysna’s elderly folk will be specially catered for this year with a wheelchair walk along a selected route. The Knysna Embroiders Guild will also be back with another exciting exhibition of their latest embroidery works of art.
But why not make a weekend of it? A quick and easy break away before the summer season silliness swamps us? Knysna’s natural playground offers visitors of all ages the chance to make the most of the early summer weather… and you are sure to find your perfect self-catering, B&B, guest house or boutique hotel accommodation at www.exploreknysna.com.
Taking place on 26 and 27 October on Leisure Isle, Knysna, the Leisure Isle Festival is facilitated by the Leisure Isle Residents Association and sponsored by Lew Geffen Sotheby’s International Realty.
