Whether you are a classic or a new model, the Garden Route Motor Club’s annual Garden Route Classic Car Show is sure to get your engine revving! The show is taking place on Saturday 4 May at the Knysna High School sport grounds on Waterfront Drive and will be open to the public from 10:00 to 16:00.

With more than 220 amazing cars on display and participants from not only the Garden Route, but as far afield as Port Elizabeth, Port Alfred, Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg, you’d better get your driving gloves on as Knysna will be a petrol-head paradise on Saturday 4 May!
Awesome automobiles will be displayed in various categories such as collectors’ cars, anniversary cars, dream cars, car clubs and the evolution of the Jaguar and MG ranges. These displays will afford the public with the rare opportunity to view a collection of vehicles of this magnitude.
Included in these displays will be a number of cars from the Bruce Classic Collection such as a 1955 Jaguar XK-D Sport Racer, 1923 Rolls Royce 20HP Shooting Brake, 1953 Austin Healy 100 Sports Roadster, 1965 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe and 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible. Other cars of special interest are the 1937 classic Jaguar SS 100, 1936 Cord Westchester, Ferraris and many more sports classics.
A few birthdays will also be celebrated at the show as a display of Model T’s and Model A’s will commemorate Henry Ford’s 150th birthday while older and two of the latest Aston Martin models will be on display to honour Aston Martin’s centenary. And several other manufacturers and models on display will be celebrating anniversaries, such as Lamborghini, Lotus Cortina, Triumph TR2, Jaguar XJS and Austin Healey amongst others.
Classic & Performance Car Africa will sponsor two concourse trophies, one of which will be awarded by a panel of experienced judges and the other to be determined by a process of public voting. And the House of Classic and Sports Cars will be conducting an auction of 22 prime, classic cars. This is a high octane auction not to be missed and all proceeds will be donated to charity.
Taking place to a soundtrack of great music from the 1960’s, with a Master of Ceremonies conducting interviews with participants and food and refreshments available, the Garden Route Classic Car Show is the perfect way to entertain the entire family. Adults will pay R20 to enter, with children paying R10 and kids under 12 entering for free. Proceeds will be donated to Hospice, E-PAP and Animal Welfare.
So be sure to pull in at the Garden Route Classic Car Show on Waterfront Drive on Saturday 4 May – you’ll be stalling your weekend if you don’t!
